We are seeking to appoint a qualified, experienced Counsellor to work part time in our Haringey Bereavement Service. This team provides counselling and support to bereaved people in the borough of Haringey.
The post holder will work with another part-time Coordinator to coordinate a bereavement support service to adult Haringey residents who have been bereaved of someone through any cause of death or who are anticipating bereavement. The service mainly provides NICE component 3 individual bereavement counselling with some component 2 as required. The main tasks of the post holder are to assess the needs of people referred to the service, to recruit, train, line manage and supervise a team of volunteers to provide component 3 bereavement counselling, to provide counselling to a small number of clients with the most complex bereavement needs, and to participate in the promotion of the service.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and confident individual who has been able to demonstrate substantial experience of providing counselling to bereaved people, making assessments and providing clinical supervision.
The postholder will be working from home until current Government restrictions are eased so will also need proven experience of working clinically on the telephone and online, and must ensure privacy and confidentiality while working from home.
To be considered for the post, applicants must have a professional qualification in counselling, eligibility for BACP accreditation and experience of providing clinical supervision.
