Work continues on refreshing the Bereavement Care Service Standards. As part of that work, we have two participation opportunities for services and organisations: one for bereaved people and one to work with an underserved community in your location.
Hearing from bereaved people
We are keen to understand how bereaved people interpret the concept of standards as they relate to bereavement support. We will be holding focus groups in February and early March 2024 to understand some of the decisions bereaved people make and their experiences of support. If your organisation or service has a lived experience advisory group or forum, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a significant piece of work that will support the sector. For more information and an informal chat, please contact Gail Precious.
Hearing from underserved communities
We are also keen to understand how underserved communities and minoritised groups interpret the concept of standards as they relate to bereavement support. We are looking to support three organisations who are keen to develop and deepen a relationship with a particular underserved community in their local area. We are particularly interested to hear from hospice-based community services and local independent bereavement charities.
We have a small pot of funding available to support this work, but the service or organisation must be prepared to work with the chosen group or community across February and early March 2024. For more information and an informal chat, please contact Gail Precious.
