Modular training courses

St Christopher’s Candle and Hospice UK:
Working in Childhood Bereavement Courses

September 13th & 14th  2018 to April/June 2019. London

These Middlesex University accredited Certificate (level 5) or Advanced Certificate (level 7) courses run every two years. They start in September 2018 and offer a specialist, in depth training for those working with bereaved children and their families.  They provide an opportunity to consolidate and develop practice, learn about theory and research in childhood bereavement and the context and framework of developing a childhood bereavement service. Child Bereavement UK:
Working with bereaved children and young people (PGCert)

The main aim of this course is to enable students to develop safe, effective and reflective practice when working with bereaved children and young people, within the context of the family, according to each child or young person’s individual needs.

This course is for those who wish to develop their knowledge and skills to work effectively with bereaved children and young people.

All units will be delivered in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. Please note that this is a non-residential course and you will need to organise overnight accommodation if required.

Good Grief Training

Accredited and endorsed by Middlesex University, Grief Encounter’s Good Grief Training programme provides expert training to professionals whose working lives bring them into contact with bereaved children and young people.

The training is designed to provide in-depth, specialist knowledge and practical guidance to help understand the emotional and physical responses a child might experience in grief. It will also give students the skills and confidence to support those in pain and help to provide a kind and compassionate environment for the child or young person to express their grief.

Dates: Eight Mondays between 17 September 2018 and 25 February 2019

Fees: £1,200 with Middlesex University accreditation, £950 without accreditation
